This is why one MIDI in and one MIDI out makes me a little bit nervous. The rest: Pentium 2/400 Mhz clone, Midiman 4 in/4 out digital audio interface, two 14 channel Mackie VLZ-pro mixers, 48 point patchbay, Waves native power pack, Antares auto-tune, the usual compression, reverb and delay outboards. The current MIDI rig: I'm using a MOTU midi express XT that drives an EMU Proteus 2000 with the Protozoa chip added, an EMU Orbit, an Alesis SR-16, a Roland TD-7, an Ensoniq SQ1+ and a Kurzweil PC-88mx, which is the main controller. Cakewalk Pro Audio makes it all go, then I mix down to DAT and then bounce to Sound Forge for mastering. Normally, I'm pretty heavy on sequencing, with guitar, bass and vocal tracks being the only actual audio tracks I cut. I am a Cakewalk Pro Audio/Sound Forge user who is considering making the switch to the Digi 001 Factory, but I'm wondering about MIDI compatibilty with my current rig. Please excuse the long post, but I want to give all you helpful folks enough info on what I'm trying to do, and as opposed to lots of back and forth about my rig, I figure I'll just lay it all out on the first try and then ask the questions last.
